Hi, I’m Lulu Pachuau and Lushai is my user experience consultancy. I firmly believe that design should increase the effectiveness of technology in improving the quality of life and connecting people. I help as a facilitator, advisor, researcher and communicator through stories and prototypes. I work closely and transparently with clients to identify the right problems and work through solutions together.
I am currently based in Wellington New Zealand. Please feel free to contact me if you want to catch up over coffee or a drink (I like both).
A bit of background
I have been around the block for about a decade now, in the field of user experience for websites and applications. I care about people’s experiences and strive to foster relationships through empathy and an understanding of people’s goals.

I have been the director of Lushai and am the primary consultant since early 2009. I bring in other people when needed and I am connected to other industry experts around the city and the country.
I wear different hats as an information architect, interaction designer, mentor and a strategist.
“Design is a process of identifying the right problem and finding solutions for it.”
I have worked with the top design agencies in Wellington and consult to a wide range of clients including government, utilities, banking and telecommunications sectors where I have designed solutions for websites, online commerce, intranets, desktop and web applications. My experience has made my skills unique in the market making me a very sought after consultant and an industry leader in Wellington and in New Zealand.
I am an alumni member of Adaptive Path and Cooper U in San Francisco. I am a member of the Usability Professionals Association of New Zealand (UPANZ), where I gives talks and mentors younger designers, Interaction Design Association (IxDA), and the Information Architecture Institute (IAI).
